Group Projects
As an Education major, seeking to be a teacher, I feel like while I was growing up, the best way I can remember that I learned the most information was while I was doing a group project. Group projects not only provide for a better way to learn the information you are working on, but it also helps students interact with one another and develop much needed friendships. In the lower grades, acceptance is so important to every child's life. When students are forced to get together outside of class and work together on a project for school, they are opening doors for friendship and possible life long relationships. Group projects are not only used in high school but I have also noticed in college that Professors use the same work tactics. It may be an old teaching method, but its one that will never die out.
ALEX
ALEX is the latest and greatest thing in the teaching world. This website enables teachers to share, research, develop and get help with the everyday duties that teachers face. Everything from lesson planning assistance, to web search, ALEX keeps teacher informed and updated on the newest things a teacher may need. There are communication boards where teachers and ask their fellow teachers for advice on certain subjects which makes for an easy access and helpful web site for any young and ambitious teacher.
ACCESS
This new technological advance known as ACCESS is remarkable! I think every school should have something like this in their facility. This program enables students to have "access" to multiple studies and classes that they regularly would not. It is hard to keep up with the times but I think this is one thing that is very important to keep up with for the sake of the children's future.
I feel like with Twitter, even though it can be beneficial to some people on staying informed and updated on someone they care about, it still seems to be a waste of time and not an educational tool. If anything, it will be a distraction for students to constantly be checking on the latest updates of their friends and family when they should really be focusing on their school work. Twitter can be used as a helpful tool, however I think that we should focus on school work and other educational tools rather than keeping friends and family updated on the current events of our life.
Blogging
As a Physical Education major, I think it is very important for me to fully understand how to use blogs and how to develop one for my self. In this day in age, technology has increased so much in todays schools. Just about every school in America has computer access and with that, internet access. Bogging is a great way to inform your students on the activities of the day, and update on their grades and the latest news on the school. This is also very beneficial for a parent/teacher relationship. It keeps the parents informed and feeling good about what their child is doing in school and how well he or she is learning the information that is being taught. Over all, Blogging is a great asset to the educational realm of things.

Professional Blog
My name is Julia Roe and I am currently a sophomore at the University of South Alabama. My goal is to be a high school coach of either volleyball or basketball, and I intend on receiving this position once I obtain my degree in Physical Education. I graduated from a small, private high school in Pensacola, Florida by the name of Aletheia Christian Academy where I received a wonderful education that prepared me for life as a college student. To the best of my knowledge, in order to coach at the majority of high schools, it is necessary for one to also have a degree in Education. This is why I decided on a PE major verses an Exercise Science major. I do believe that my ability to work well with and reach out to kids of all ages will only help me through my time as a coach and teacher.
